Life Inside
Back by popular demand is the new and improved video curriculum, Life Inside. First released in 1992, the new 2005 version has a
brand new video and an updated activity guide. Life Inside is an opportunity to explore “applied justice” and the corrections process.
Students will have the opportunity to explore the characteristics of a typical offender in Florida, case studies of inmates in
Florida’s correctional facilities, the history of corrections, sentencing guidelines, and a wide range of issues. There is even an
activity where students can design a prison system for the future.
Life Inside is a partnership between the Florida Department of Corrections and the Florida Law Related Education Association, Inc.
It provides a realistic look at life inside Florida’s correctional facilities through the eyes of incarcerated youthful offenders. We
suggest all teachers preview the videotape and activities before using them with your students. We hope you find the material useful
and look forward to hearing from you.
